Sonia rodriguez

Born and raised in Central and Southeast Los Angeles, I grew up in a musical home. My father was a guitar player and bolero was his passion. I grew up with the sounds of the classical guitar giving voice to the romantic ballad rhythms of bolero that filled every room in our quaint home.

My passion for music grew and self-taught myself piano, guitar, bass, drums and singing. I have played with bands that gave me the opportunity to tour in San Francisco, Richmond, Oakland, across L.A. County as well as Nicaragua and Guatemala. I have recorded back-up vocals for an up and coming praise worship singer and written my own songs that I've had the opportunity to perform at various locations.

I studied Vocal Performance in college with my focus being classical. I participated in Choirs and Chorales that performed in competitions at USC, was section leader for the Chamber Chorale at ELAC and participated as a soloist for the ELAC Symphony ensemble, performing Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (Ode to Joy).

My passion for music has now lead me to a path in which I aspire to make music available to as many I come into contact with. I use mediums such as YouTube to provide music theory lessons and in the past have provided private instruction to both groups and one-on-one to people varying in age from 4-50+. I have 15+ years of experience and hope I can walk with you on your musical journey.
